After a long silence because of certain preoccupations, I am back with a bang! (I hope.) Here’s a poem I wrote, about school and my friends, and all that… Here it is:
Twelve years of endless classes,
Endless homework,
and Endless fun.
Twelve years of everything.
Of waiting all afternoon to go home,
Of waiting for lunch, hungry as hell,
Twelve years of “nearly” falling asleep in class,
or during a test.
Twelve years of lecture,
about discipline,
and uniform,
and seriousness.
Twelve years of crazy hugs,
gossip,
practical jokes,
fights with friends,
and reconcilliations.
Twelve years of Birthdays:
hundreds of them.
And lots of “first”s:
first crushes,
first boyfriends,
first heartbreaks,
first periods,
first bras…
Endless “first”s.
Twelve years,
And how quickly we grew up.
From tooth faries, barbies, sandpits
to folders, lipgloss, and basketball,
And then grades and colleges and “love-lifes.”
Twelve years of patience,
And doing homework.
Or not doing homework.
From getting the highest in Math
to actually failing it.
Who knew?
Twelve years
to be rememberred forever.
For ever and ever again.
